At Open Platform, we’ve always been proud of the fact that our Move Money API allows you to access many different payment types through one endpoint.
You and your customers can send or receive funds from other US institutions via ACH and send funds instantly to friends, customers, companies or employees without needing their bank account details by making instant payments to their debit cards.
You or your customers can also use Move Money to pay bills from US companies and individuals for goods and services you receive. We have always enabled digital bill pay to companies in our comprehensive electronic biller directory, but we recently expanded our Move Money service so that you and your customers can now settle bills with any US company or individual. Just type in the name and address of any person or company, and if they are not in our electronic biller directory, our bill payment provider will issue them a paper check.
We recently expanded our Move Money service so that you and your customers can now settle bills with any US company or individual.
Now that you can pay a bill from any entity or individual in the US, you can use our bill pay service to do everything from paying bills from big companies, such as phone or utility providers, to settling invoices from independent contractors or paying rent to private landlords. Just provide the name and address of the payee using our API and our Move Money service does the rest. You can read our full guide to making bill payments here.

We’ll have more Move Money news to share soon. In the coming months, we plan to offer the ability to pull funds from debit cards, making instant transfers to and from debit cards a snap. We are also exploring domestic wire transfers within the US.
Watch this space for new developments! In the meantime, if you have any questions about how your company can benefit from Open Platform’s bill pay service, or any of our suite of banking and payment APIs, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
